How can I get my access code?

  • Log onto live.gsff.org, and either scroll down or select “Pick a Venue” in the menu bar.
  • From there, use the white arrows to cycle through our 7 venues to select the one you want.
  • Unsure of the schedule? Download the Garden State Film Festival 2020 App
  • When you find a venue that you wish to watch, please click on the VENUE image.
  • If you have an access code, please select “yes”.
  • If you purchased a ticket but do not have an access code please follow the prompts, and check your email for your access code.
    • Please be sure to check the spam or promotions folder for your email.
  • You will receive a 5 digit access code that you will be prompted to enter into the site to obtain access.
    • NOTE: **DO NOT ENTER YOUR BROWN PAPER TICKET OR UNIVERSE CODE** That code is not applicable here.
    • We suggest you write down your access code or print it out for easy access

I lost the email with my code, how can I retrieve it?

How can I contact support?

Click on the circle Icon in the lower right hand side of your browser window to open our live chat. One of our support representatives will be with you shortly.

No email support will be provided for our live event.

I purchased multiple tickets from 1 email address, what should I do?

Please contact support and let them know of the name and email address of those you intend to give the tickets to. Do not merely share your access code with them, this will cause your access code to be revoked.

  • There are 44 film blocks.
  • Your INDIVIDUAL SCREENING TICKET allows you to watch ONE of those blocks.
  • BLOCKS are labeled by the VENUE 



Do I need to download anything to watch the stream?

As long as you have a compatible web browser, you do not need to download any additional software or apps.

Can I watch the live stream on my SmartTV?

While you are not able to watch the livestream directly on your SmartTV, you can connect your device to your tv to watch the livestream using your Desktop, Laptop, Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, or Roku. Please look at our “How can I connect my device to a TV?” for more information.

How can I connect my device to a TV?

There is no better way to watch our stream than on the big screen! While we are unable to provide support to help you set up your device, we have included some helpful links from the device manufacturers. Please search for your device to find instructions.

The live stream keeps buffering/stopping, what can I do to prevent this?

  • Select the gear icon to the right of “● Live”.
  • From there you can lower the quality to help prevent loading issues.
  • If you are at our lowest quality of 480p already, please try to limit any other device(s) internet usage.

What streaming options are available?

  • Video: 720p
  • Audio: Stereo

I am getting low/no audio, how can I fix that?

On the bottom left of the player, next to the play/pause icon select the speaker icon, drag the slider up. 

How can I switch between venues?

Scroll down to the “Quick Jump” section, use the white arrows to cycle through our 7 venues. Click the venue you would like to switch to.

What does “Sorry, this venue is currently offline” mean?

This means that we are currently not streaming that venue at the moment, please check our schedule to find the next showing. If your page is displaying that message, but we are currently scheduled for a showing in that venue– please refresh your web browser.

  • Miss Virginia in Block JS28 is not going to screen.

How can I make the player fullscreen?

On the bottom left of the player, next to the gear icon select the two brackets [ ] to make the player fullscreen.

What are the requirements for the stream?

  • Supported OS:
    • MacOS, Windows, ChromeOS, Android, iOS
  • Supported browsers:


    • Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Google Chrome
  • Internet requirements:
    • 3-5 Mbps

What is a film block and what time does each block start?

GSFF presents its films in “blocks”. They are easy to see here: https://www.gsff.org/wp-content/uploads/2020ListingsAtAGlance_LiveStream.pdf

This is a completely live event, we will be following the posted schedule in EST.

  • Each block has a start and end time as well as a Block Code.
  • All blocks are 1.5 – 2 hours in length and usually contain more than one film.
  • Each block requires a ticket ($15 for one block other great deals like a Multi Pass for all 4 days or a day pass)

Can I share my code with others?

ABSOLUTELY NOT. Sharing or using a shared access code is considered unauthorized use of content, and may constitute a violation of U.S. federal law. Any codes discovered to have been shared will be immediately revoked, and access will be lost for the remainder of the 2020 live stream event. No exceptions will be considered.

Can I rewind or go back to watch a block/film?

No, this is a live event.

The films are presented as a live stream just as if we were all there as originally scheduled. it is NOT an on demand situation. So no you can not pause or watch it again.

Are closed captions available?

Unfortunately, captions are not available on all of our films. Films in a language other than English will have English subtitles. **HINT- Block SC41 was created for our hearing impaired friends and is an entire block of subtitled films.

I keep getting a watermark on my screen, how can I hide this?

For the safety of our filmmakers, the watermark cannot be removed.

What payment options do you accept for merchandise sales?

We accept Vista, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay.

How can I delete an item in my merchandise shopping cart?

Please use the minus (-) to lower the amount to 0, this will remove the item from your cart.

A merchandise item says an item is out of stock, can I preorder?

Do you ship merchandise outside of the US?

Unfortunately, we only ship to the US and Canada.
